Sexy Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney ditches the glamour for her latest movie role as one of a group of people who start their own society on a remote, uninhabited island.
The film, directed by former Happy Days actor RonHoward, is called Eden.It is based on a true story from the early 1930s on Floreana Island in the Galápagos archipelago.
The film also stars Sherlock actor Jude Law, Bond girl Ana de Armas, 37, and Fantastic Four actress Vanessa Kirby, also 37.
Law ,52, plays Dr. Friedrich Ritter, a German physician and philosopher who, with his partner Dora Strauch played by Kirby , leads the Floreana group.
Sweeney ,27, plays Margret Wittmer, a dowdy German housewife who, along with her husband Heinz played by Daniel Brühl ,46, hope the island’s environment will cure their ailing son Harry’s tuberculosis.
De Armas plays aristocrat Baroness Eloise Bosquet de Wagner Wehrhorn.
The real story the Baroness and her lover vanish and two other people die in an unsolved mystery that became known as the “Galápagos Affair.”
A film spokesperson said:“As tensions spiral and desperation takes hold, a twisted power struggle unfolds, leading to betrayal, violence.”
The movie is due to open in September.
