A U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle conducts a routine combat air patrol in support of Operation Inherent Resolve over the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, Jan. 29, 2025. Eye-popping new images from the U.S. Air Force (USAF) highlight their show of force in the Middle East. The warplanes are acting as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, the United States military's operational name for the international campaign against the Islamic State (ISIS). The fearsome pictures - taken this January - include F-15E Strike Eagles, F-16 Fighting Falcons and the deadly A-10 Thunderbolt II, otherwise known as the tank-busting 'Warthog'. Regarding the Fighting Falcon on this mission, the USAF said their "advanced capabilities provide flexible options to coalition leaders directing air operations throughout the Middle East, including contingency response capabilities and deterrence missions, while supporting Operation Inherent Resolve's "Defeat-ISIS" mission.",Image: 959281828, License: Rights-managed, Restrictions: Editorial use, commercial use may require additional licenses.
