The founder and former chairman of Evergrande Group Xu Jiayin (also known as Hui Ka Yan), has been sentenced to life in prison by a Shenzhen court after being convicted of multiple crimes, with all of his personal property ordered confiscated. The court also fined Evergrande Group 8.82 billion yuan (1.12 billion euros) while its real estate unit Evergrande Real Estate Group was ordered to pay 7 billion yuan (890 million euros), according to state news agency Xinhua.
