He was joined at the event by NJ Congressman Jeff Van Drew who recently switched from Democratic to the Republican party. There had been more than 175,000 requests for seats at the venue, which holds 7,500. People camped out overnight on the beach to get a spot in line for the rally being held at a boardwalk convention center. The lines started forming Sunday afternoon and had grown to hundreds by early Tuesday morning. Hotels ordinarily closed for the winter were open for business and largely sold out.
