Penguins swimming
Penguins at Port Lockroy, Antarctic - 11 Dec 2017
A group of playful penguins dive around a photographer in clear Antarctic water. Photographer Jonas Beyer, 29, was able to get close to the penguins as they jumped in and out of the cold water at Port Lockroy, an island off the Antarctic peninsula. The photographer from Denmark was taking pictures of guests on a cruise in the South Atlantic Ocean, but managed to slip away to photograph the group of gentoo penguins. He said: "I was photographing guests at an event during their journey in Antarctica, but had some time for myself where I could go and do some wildlife photography. "I saw a group of gentoo penguins standing on the ice edge and I was in my scuba diving drysuit, so I was able to go into the water to photograph them up close.",Image: 370562749, License: Rights-managed, Restrictions: , Model Release: no
