Photo taken in 1970 shows Venezuelan national Ilich Ramirez Sanchez alias "Carlos the Jackal", once the world's most-wanted terrorist. Carlos, 48, described himself after his arrest in 1994 as a "professional revolutionary". He is due to go on trial before a jury 12 December in Paris for the 1975 killing of two French policemen and a third man. It is the first of six trials planned for the guerrilla leader who terrorised countries around the world in the 1970s and 1980s.
